psychology term paper

Waypoint #1

Please select an industry for which you would like to research the strategic information systems (IS)/information technology (IT) trends. You may cross-reference with the term paper (suggested industries document as it appears in Canvas). Before finally identifying your industry, please ensure you can find adequate research.

Please ensure you type your selected industry onto a Word document and upload it using the appropriate Canvas link.

The waypoint is worth a maximum of 5 points.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

All the best,

Dr. Elluri

Note: In contrast to the case study wherein you will report on a specific company, the term paper denotes the choice of an industry (as what a particular company does is not reflective of a trend). Therefore, you will poll (or sample) several companies determining the IS/IT trend present within an industry.

Waypoint #2

Now that you have selected your industry and topic (the IS/IT trend), you will create a term paper proposal. Please include the below sections (using the bulleted titles (not bulleted in your document)) and construct a Word document (times new roman 12-point font, double-spaced, 1-inch margins) and upload it to Canvas using the appropriate link when complete.

· Industry and topic

(Provide your industry and topic)

· Why I chose the industry and topic

(Please write a few sentences as to why you chose the industry and topic.)

· Why I find the industry and topic exciting and important

(Please construct several sentences stating why you think the industry and topic are interesting and valuable. Remember: I am your audience, and I also need to find it appealing…convince me.)

· The question I want to answer

(Please write a proposition in the form of a conclusion (the focal point of your term paper) which you will then demonstrate or prove in your term paper. Be specific as your proposition will denote the direction of your paper.)

Your proposition should be clear and be no more than three (3) sentences.

· How I am going to conduct my research.

(Please construct several sentences which illustrate how you are going to conduct your research.)

The waypoint is worth a maximum of 7.5 points.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Waypoint #3

Please craft a term paper outline. Include all headings that will appear in your paper, and further (for each heading), have several (5-6) sentences of content that is going to appear in that paper section (You can take any direction that you want, but it needs to flow and make logical, ordered sense supporting your proposition). Note: Your term paper is a work-in-progress, and you should treat it as such; however, please ensure you take the necessary time to think about this waypoint and construct the best document that you can.

When complete, upload your Word document (times new roman 12-point font, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, APA 7th edition in-text citations and end references) to Canvas using the appropriate link (you can upload it as many times as you want up to the deadline noting that the last submission will be graded. All uploads will be checked against SimCheck (a plagiarism tool). The below SimCheck criteria will be used as one of the grading criteria for your waypoint.

· If your SimCheck score is 15% or less, you will start with the maximum possible points available.

· If your SimCheck score is 15.01% – 25%, you will start with 80% of the maximum possible point available.

· If your SimCheck score is 25.01% – 40%, you will start with 60% of the maximum possible points available.

· If your SimCheck score is 40.01% – 60%, you will start with 20% of the maximum possible points available.

· If your SimCheck score is 60.01% or greater, you will receive a zero.

In addition to the above stated, your term paper waypoint will be graded on your ability to follow instructions and further on the developed product (completeness). I will provide specific feedback at each waypoint so you may further refine your document in preparation for the final term paper submission.

The waypoint is worth a maximum of 12.5 points.

Please ensure your Powerpoint is clean (easy to look at (not too busy), and organized.

Upon completion, upload the PowerPoint Slideshow to Canvas using the appropriate link.

The term paper presentation will be graded using the term paper waypoint #6 grading rubric, as it appears on Canvas.

If you are unsure how to access your SimCheck similarity report, please use the following link: https://help.turnitin.com/integrity/student/canvas/the-similarity-report/accessing-the-similarity-report.htm.

Your similarity reports are available (usually immediately after upload – in other circumstances (large files or a busy network), it may take a little longer (up to 24-hours (so do not wait until the last minute)).
