The topic that I will explore in the iSearch project is ‘Nursing Career.’ I am interested in this topic because I enjoy making a difference in other people’s lives. However, I am concerned that changes that are taking place in the field of nursing such as technological integration into healthcare delivery might affect employability. One thing that I wonder about nursing career is how current and future reforms in the field of nursing will affect the nursing workforce. In this respect, the specific question that I intend to answer in the iSearch is ‘How will current and future reforms in nursing affect the nursing workforce?’ What I want to discover in order to answer my major question are the nursing trends that are likely to affect the nursing workforce in the future.

I began the journey by searching major nursing databases in order to locate the right sources. Nursing databases are the right location for obtaining sources written about nursing concepts. The nursing databases searched include PubMed, Google Scholar, and the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), and Medline. The search terms and phrases used during the search include nursing trends, 2022 nursing trends, nursing trends 2022 and beyond, nursing trends in the next five years, and the future of nursing.
I reviewed nursing journal articles and the pardueglobal.edu website to obtain the required information. Although the initial search generates several articles, I was able to obtain the right articles by refining my search using specific terms and phrases like 2022 nursing trends, nursing trends 2022 and beyond, and nursing trends in the next five years. I am glad that I was able to get assistance from my colleagues and mentors. I was able to locate 6 articles containing information that was appropriate for addressing my major question.
