CREATE A – KID 4YR OLD PRESCHOOL
The focus of this assignment is growth and development. Each student will be assigned an age range. By the end of week 6, you should find a patient in the hospital or clinic that is in your assigned age range and create a presentation based on this kid. You will need use a combination of interviewing, observation, and chart review ALONG WITH the book and online resources listed above to gather the information about your kid. Please, NO PATIENT IDENTIFIERS!! The goal through your presentation is to:
Describe your kid
Erikson and Piaget stages of development and how you know
Medications they are taking
Potential safety hazards based on their age / stage
Immunization status based on their age (ones they should have and ones they\’ve actually had)
Education / anticipatory guidance. *Remember, education in pediatrics is often times directed towards the parents and may or may not include the kid depending on their development.
Your presentation should include pictures / visuals to support your observations and research. Be sure to look at the attached rubric for detailed information about what each topic should include. BEFORE YOU SUBMIT your presentation, be sure it includes all of the criteria listed in the rubric
