Management Plan

2 yo African American female who presents with a rash. The rash started this morning on abdomen and has now spread to arms and legs. No itching or pain per mom. Mom reports she has not tried anything for the rash. She had fever of 103, nonproductive cough, and runny nose that started 3 days ago. Fever resolved yesterday. Mom reports using Tylenol for fever. No change in appetite, BMs (2/day), or urination (4-5/day). ***Ask about seizures or neurological changes KEY FINDINGS: rash started theis morning on abd, spreading to arms and legs, fever onset 3 days ago of 103, runny nose onset 3 days, nonproductive cough onset 3 days, DDx: Exanthem subitem (HHV-6/roseola), allergic contact dermatitis, German measles (rubella), Upper respiratory infection

Use the expert diagnosis ( (HHV-6/roseola)) provided to create a pertinent, comprehensive, evidenced-based management plan.

Address the following criteria in the plan:

1.) Diagnostic tests;

2.) Medications (write out a complete order, even for OTC meds);

3.) Suggested consults/referrals;

4.) Patient education

5.) Follow-up, including time interval and specific symptoms to prompt a return visit sooner;

6.) Provide rationales for each intervention and include references to support your plan. Clinical practice guidelines should be utilized as applicable.
