Financial Efficiency and Customer Satisfaction in Health Care
Introduction
The primary aim of a health care organization is to treat patients and improve the overall health status of community members. Patient satisfaction is a crucial aspect of the healthcare system (Weimann & Weimann, 2017). Health care providers can improve patient satisfaction once they have the understanding that the health of the patients and their overall well-being is the primary objective rather than making profits. Cutting down treatment costs is one of the ways to ensure patient or customer satisfaction besides quality care and other factors (Weimann & Weimann, 2017). However, reducing the cost of health care is a significant challenge to healthcare providers. In that regard, the purpose of this paper is to discuss how a Christian health administrator can balance the importance of financial efficiency and customer satisfaction.
A Christian health administrator plays a critical role to play in balancing financial efficiency and customer satisfaction. Both financial efficiency and customer satisfaction are important to the well-being and good health of the patient. Healthcare organizations need financial stability to provide quality health services offered within the healthcare organization (Pozgar & Santucci, 2018). Patient or customer satisfaction is achieved when healthcare organizations can afford the staff, food, equipment, and quality supplies. Therefore, financial efficiency and patient satisfaction go hand in hand and cannot operate separately. Both are equal; none is more important than the other.
To ensure financial efficiency and patient or customer satisfaction, Christian health administrator need to be cautious about their worlds to ensure they are more positive to their patients. The ultimate, outcome for the patient will lead to customer satisfaction and financial efficiency (Weimann & Weimann, 2017). Good communication skills such as humility, kindness, and loyalty when handling patients are very important in ensuring patient satisfaction. Patients will always be ready to seek healthcare services, hence, the hospital will achieve financial stability from the paid services. Integrity, patience, and honesty are some of the important qualities a Christian health administrator should have to ensure financial efficiency and customer satisfaction (Weimann & Weimann, 2017). Honesty and integrity will allow the Christian health administrator to practice proper financial integrity.
Financial misappropriation is the main problem in an organization leading to financial inefficiencies. Therefore, the leadership qualities identified above can help prevent misappropriations, hence, leading to financial efficiency and patient/customer satisfaction. Additionally, a Christian health administrator should practice consistency over several budget cycles (Pozgar & Santucci, 2018). It will promote financial efficiency while ensuring customer satisfaction. Another important thing a Christian health administrator can do is to maintain accountability throughout all operations of the organization.
Conclusion
The primary objective of all health care organizations is to improve the health status of patients and the entire community. Reducing healthcare services can only be achieved when the healthcare organization has achieved financial efficiency. Patient satisfaction and financial efficiency go hand in hand. Financial efficiency and stability mean the organization can afford staff, medical equipment, and medications, hence, leading to patient satisfaction. A Christian health administrator can ensure patient satisfaction and financial efficiency by practicing transparency, consistency, and honesty. They also need to maintain integrity. Additionally, the Christian health administrator needs to be positive with patients by being humble and kind to them to allow them seek medical advice more frequently.
