Social Anxiety Disorder

Write a review paper on the Social Anxiety Disorder (citing a minimum of 8 scientific journal articles. The textbook can be referenced, but does not count as one of the 8 required sources. Papers must be in APA format. Overuse of direct quotes will be penalized- only one direct quote permitted in the paper. All other citations must be paraphrased (summarized in your own words) with an in-text citation. Papers should also include: title page, abstract, an introductory paragraph with a thesis statement, and a conclusion paragraph at the end of the paper. (3000 words minimum)

Introduce any disorder you cover in at least 1 paragraph, but otherwise, you may cover whatever you wish to about your topic as long as you cite scientific journal articles. Some potential focuses: mechanisms in other words, what causes or influences the risk of a disorder [genetics, physical explanations of the disorders, social influences, etc.]; unusual cases or research on symptoms; treatments [new or commonly used]; subpopulations [maybe there certain groups that get this more often for some reason, i.e. young adults or those of lower socioeconomic status] or a combination. Most students focus on treatments, but it is not a requirement.
