The speaker notes are basically your notes that you will include with your PowerPoint for Week 8. You will submit these notes with the Week 8 submission, either as a separate word document like you are submitting for Week 7, or as “Comments” in the PowerPoint slides themselves. You may write these notes as general statements /information that will be covered for each slide, or as actual dictation you would do if presented this in front of an audience.
Title Slide (Optional): Describe what you would say for the Title slide.
Scientific Background : Include a MINIMUM of two paragraphs on the background of your topic. You should include specific details that cover what the audience needs to know in order to have a basic foundation for the topic. Do not be vague or generic here.
Audience : Be specific in describing the target audience (e.g. college students, consumers of X, etc.) and why this presentation is directed at them. Describe why this topic is significant to the target audience.
Empirical Evidence : Clear empirical evidence over your topic must be presented here. Include specific data from your sources in this section and cite it. I recommend a MINIMUM of three pieces of evidence.
Personally : How does this topic affect you personally? What made you choose this topic in the first place? Convey to the audience why this topic is important to you personally.
Investigation : How has your research affected how you feel about this topic? Has your opinion changed or stayed the same? How would you change your research habits in the future?
Message : Describe how you will tailor your message/presentation so that the audience will understand the topic (e.g. breakdown terminology, provide examples of relevancy to the audience, etc.).
